About the Captain

Capt. Peter Deeks' passion for the outdoors started  before he could walk.  Growing up on Merritt Island, Florida, he was able to fish and hunt on a daily basis which was easy considering his house was on the Indian River Lagoon.  As he grew older, he upgraded his boats to the finest skiffs, bay boats, airboats, and increased the range of his fishing and hunting territory.  In 2004, Capt. Peter founded Native Sons Pro Fishing Team and began his professional fishing career - competing in the FLW, IFA, and Extreme professional redfish tours as well as many regional events.  In 2007, after completing his Bachelors in Biology from Rollins College, he started guiding during  the off-season and founded Native Sons Fishing Charters and Native Sons Outfitters.  Native Sons Fishing Charters and Native Sons Outfitters have both become two of Florida's premier guide services.

Capt. Peter is one of Florida's most respected and well known guides and tournament anglers.  He guides over 400 clients annualy, fishes over 10  saltwater tournaments a year, and represents/tests/reviews products for companies in the fishing and hunting industries.  Capt. Peter is one of the leading experts on trophy seatrout and snook, guiding clients to IGFA World Record Seatrout, Snook, and Redfish.
